Using Kilo Code with SoAI

Kilo Code exposes user-facing configuration for both a custom OpenAI-compatible provider and remote MCP servers.

Prepare SoAI

  1. In the SoAI WebUI, select the Settings button at the right of the header, choose Settings, and open OpenAI. This tab appears only to an Administrator with API key management (OPENAI_API_ADMIN). Select Create key and copy the key when it is shown. Open Models and copy the exact model ID; this requires Model read access (MODEL_READ).
  2. For MCP, select the Settings button at the right of the header, choose Settings, then open MCP > MCP tokens. The MCP tab appears only to an Administrator with MCP administration (MCP_ADMIN), and creating a token also requires MCP usage (MCP_USE). Changing the MCP runtime, server mode, or exposed capabilities under MCP configuration also requires Configuration changes (CONFIG_PATCH).

Connect Kilo Code to the SoAI model API

  1. Open Kilo Code, select the settings gear, and open Providers.
  2. At the bottom, add a Custom provider. Choose a provider ID and display name, then set Provider API to OpenAI Compatible.
  3. Enter https://SOAI_HOST:5090/v1 and the SoAI API key.
  4. Fetch the model list or add an exact model ID. Set its context, output, tool, image, and reasoning capabilities to match the SoAI catalog, then submit the provider.
  5. Select the new provider and model in the model picker.

Connect Kilo Code to SoAI MCP in its interface

  1. Open Settings > Agent Behaviour > MCP Servers.
  2. Select Add Server, choose Remote (HTTP), and enter https://SOAI_HOST:5090/mcp.
  3. Add Authorization: Bearer YOUR_MCP_TOKEN as a header and disable OAuth for this static bearer-token connection.
  4. Save, confirm the server is active, and approve a harmless tool when prompted.
