Prompts

Prompts stores reusable text templates for the signed-in account. It is a normal top-level sidebar page on a fresh installation unless that account hides it. Saved prompts can be inserted from the prompt picker in the Chat composer.

A saved prompt copies text into the composer for you to edit and send. Use a skill when you want a reusable procedure to remain available in a chat and load when relevant or when requested by name. Creating a skill covers instructions, supporting files, and packaging.

Create a prompt

  1. In the SoAI WebUI, open Prompts in the sidebar.
  2. Select Add prompt. On an empty page, select Create prompt.
  3. Enter a name and content. Choose an optional color to make related templates easier to scan.
  4. Select Save.

Open a card or list row to preview the full content. From there, use Edit, Copy, or Delete. Deletion requires confirmation and cannot be undone.

Find and organize templates

Use the header search to match prompt names or content. The sort control orders by date, name, or color, with ascending or descending direction. The view button switches between card and list layouts. Page statistics show Total prompts, Colored prompts, Total characters, Last created, Last modified, and Selected.

Select Select for batch mode. Choose individual prompts or Select all, then use Duplicate, Download, or Delete. Download exports the selected prompts; there is no matching import control on this page.

Enhance a saved prompt

Open a prompt, choose an available text model in the enhancer, and select Enhance. The result streams beside the original so you can compare them. Select Stop to cancel generation, or Save to create a new prompt from the enhanced text. The original prompt remains unchanged.

Loading the enhancement model list and running an enhancement require Public inference API access (OPENAI_API), non-empty content, and a verified compatible model. If the selected model is unavailable, choose another model or correct its backend before retrying. See Models catalog for model state and Install and manage plugins for local backend state.

Insert a prompt in Chat

To show the prompt button, open a conversation, select Chat configuration > Appearance, turn on Saved prompts, and select Save. Select the saved-prompts action in the composer, then choose a template. Select Manage prompts in that picker when you need to return to the full Prompts page. Inserting a template copies its text into the composer; you can edit it before sending without changing the saved prompt.

You can also open a prompt on the Prompts page, select Copy, and paste the text into the Chat composer. To send the prompt as a file instead, use Select on the Prompts page, choose the prompt, and select Download. In Chat, open Add attachments, choose Upload, and attach the downloaded file. These options leave you free to edit the prompt as message text or keep it as a file attachment.
