SoAI OS SSH and host maintenance

The SoAI OS WebUI exposes SSH and power controls for host maintenance. It does not provide a general page for systemd service management, journal queries, or time synchronization. Use the API only when those documented host operations are required outside the WebUI.

Manage SSH in the SoAI WebUI

Select the Settings button at the right of the header, then Settings and SSH. This tab exists only in SoAI OS and requires a current administrator with SoAI OS administration (HOST_MANAGEMENT_ADMIN). Select Refresh to see the service name, runtime status, Start on boot, and last check time.

  1. Select Enable SSH and confirm it to start SSH and enable it at boot.
  2. To turn it off safely, select Reset beside Disable SSH. Despite the button label, it opens Disable SSH safely; it does not reset the service.
  3. Set Rollback timeout (seconds). It defaults to 120 and accepts whole values from 1 to 3,600. Select Review, inspect Planned commands, Predicted effects, and Warnings, then select Disable SSH.
  4. When the pending operation becomes Ready to finalize, select Commit disable to keep SSH disabled or Rollback now to restore it. If no commit arrives before the deadline, SoAI OS restores the prior state automatically.

Keep console access or another recovery path available. Disabling SSH can end the session used to operate the WebUI.

Restart or shut down the host

Select Power in the sidebar's System section. The page requires a current administrator with System power control (SYSTEM_POWER), which is separate from SoAI OS administration (HOST_MANAGEMENT_ADMIN). Use Restart system or Shut down, set the available delay or force options, and confirm the request. The server rejects host power actions when SYSTEM.RUNTIME.HOST_SYSTEM_ACTIONS_DISABLED is enabled. Check active tasks first because a restart or shutdown ends SoAI and other running host processes.
