Hardware compatibility depends on the SoAI edition and platform, then on the selected plugin, model, driver, and resources available on the host. Use the Hardware page to see what the current installation reports before choosing a model or changing a GPU setting.
Check system requirements
See Requirements for the supported operating systems, installation prerequisites, and minimum and recommended hardware tiers. Use this page to check what a particular host and backend can do.
A Vulkan backend needs a working runtime that detects the selected physical GPU and supports the features it uses. Installing the loader alone is insufficient, and a CPU or software device does not provide GPU acceleration.
Use NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel GPUs together
SoAI supports mixed-vendor hosts containing NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel GPUs. Hardware inventory keeps a global device identity and a vendor-local binding index for every detected card, so monitoring and capability discovery do not assume that all GPUs come from one vendor. Full telemetry and controls still require the matching vendor driver and management tool.
CUDA binding accepts only NVIDIA GPUs, ROCm binding accepts only AMD GPUs, and XPU binding accepts only Intel GPUs. To use those vendors concurrently, run separate compatible plugin instances or backends and bind each one to GPUs from its runtime family. A Vulkan backend follows the devices exposed by its Vulkan runtime. Mixed-vendor support does not make one CUDA, ROCm, or XPU backend span incompatible vendors.
Check a host in the SoAI WebUI
- Open Hardware from the side navigation.
- Review the live CPU, memory, storage, network, and GPU data that the host reports.
- Use Chart to select a device and metric when you need a time-based view.
- If the GPU control panel appears, inspect its per-device controls and ranges rather than assuming that another GPU supports the same settings.
Opening the page requires Hardware read access (HARDWARE_READ). An Administrator with ACL administration (ACL_ADMIN) can grant that permission to a Standard user. Select the Settings button at the right of the
header, then select Settings from its menu and select ACL. Open
Standard user, enable Hardware read access (HARDWARE_READ), and select Save. The GPU control panel also requires GPU tuning (HW_GPU_TUNING), which is an Administrator permission. The process panel requires Process viewing (HW_PROCESS_VIEW).
Why a metric or control can be absent
SoAI can identify a GPU before complete telemetry is available. Missing vendor tools, driver support, device capability, or account permissions can leave a metric, a chart option, or a GPU control unavailable. A visible GPU does not imply that power, clock, memory-clock, or fan changes are supported.
Use the Hardware page as the host-specific answer. For capacity decisions, combine its live memory and storage data with the requirements of the model and plugin you plan to use.
